I actually embrace not having any holidays for awhile. Now if I can just eliminate birthdays, my life would be simpler!

Yeah, it sucks. We're taking a cruise for our anniversary in March though. It's only a few days, but it'll be a nice getaway without the kids.

I'm trying to eliminate mine. Never quite understood it after you turn 21 it's not like you get more perks.

Are we talking paid holidays? President's Day, Martin Luther King Day (or Lee-Jackson-King Day, if you're from my part of the south), Memorial Day, and so forth?

Or maybe just excuses to get together with family, like Valentine's Day, Easter, or Memorial Day?

I'm a little saddened to see the "holiday season" go, but there are always excuses for fun and games. And, honestly, I can do without the stress - for some reason, the fun part of this Christmas season never seemed to materialize, even as nice as the holiday itself was.

Sadly, I'll be overseas for - well, a goodly portion of the holidays I mentioned above, something that does not at all do my goal of four camping trips this year any justice.

I mean the holiday season, or just winter.

It's the only time my family gets together so I kind of miss it.
