I own a BBQ drum roaster which can roast up to 4lbs at one time. I usually don't do more than 2lbs. BBQ roasting is a process. You have to fire up the grill, heat it up, then load the beans. Then you have to track the temp, to be sure that it's going as it should. You have to tweak the knobs to get the temperature right.

So a guy on coffeegeek posted a Behmor roaster for a great price. I jumped on it and it will arrive later this week. My wife is going to ask WTF I need a Behmor for, if I sold mine when I bought the BBQ roaster! I'm going to use it for 1/2lb batches and use the gas grill for anything larger than about 3/4 pound.

My Behmor landed on Friday and I roasted on Sunday. I roasted 12oz. of Tanzanian Peaberry and it produced a very nice full city + roast. I've cleared a spot in my garage for this little roaster. That is where is shall reside.
