Default Coffee Buyers

Anyone a Coffee Buyer meaning you go out to the farms or COOPs and inspect the beans to purchase?

Am very curious to learn more and hear about how you got into that line of work.

I am a new coffee farmer that has plenty of coffee beans here in Kona Hawaii. It is slow going getting people to our website and buying coffee. We really do have a great tasting coffee.

Hi Roy,

I think your website needs a good re-design, then you need to have social networking accounts like Facebook & Twitter and create conversations about coffee in general, and periodically about your farm specifically.

As with many things in marketing, they say you should follow the 80/20 rule ... so 80% of your interactions should be informative, personal & valuable while 20% can be selling & promotions. Some companies do it even less and you just have to perform a little trial and error to see what works best with your target clientele.

I hope that helps some :-)

Cheers,
Chase.

Hi Kau,

I definitely don't want to take away from the forums here because they are a great resource and have really nice members, but you might want to also join Barista Exchange ... I know there are coffee buyers on there.

Hope that's helpful & Cheers,
Chase.

The coffee buyer profession is borne out of interest first, and then when a rich investor wants the best coffee bean he can get in the world, he will look out to a BUYER specializing in raw coffee beans, for example.
