Default I'm a barista
I'm a barista for a small restaurant that also serves coffee. Any more of us on here?

Barrista? What happend to the term "Coffee girl".

I hate hearing that term, especially at starbucks. Just like the people at subway that call themselves "Sandwich Artists".

A barrista can make shots of espresso from a grinder and a machine. The starbucks people are nothing more than button pushers. They can't even froth milk, so WTF would they be called barristas?

That's what they are though. It's not like there calling themselves chefs. Honestly I have friends who work at both establishments and cringe when the term barista or sandwich artist comes up. It comes up a lot when meeting new people. "What do you do?"
"I work at Subway."
"Oh, your a sandwich artist!" Embarrassing cringes follow.
"Something like that."

Because technically the definition of Barista is a person who prepares and servers espresso-based drinks. I just call bux-istas 'button pushers' too.
