Default Where to begin? - Coffee Exporting

Hello Everyone,

I'm originally from the U.S. but have been living in Brasil for 5 years now. I came here with the idea of exporting coffee and it has taken a while to get to this point. I was lucky to discover a great region where I tasted the coffee and fell in love with it. I knew it was good but had no idea that four years later our region would win the Cup of Excellence!

The good news is I have my residency and exporting business and license now. I'm just having trouble getting started and would appreciate any advice.
Does anyone recommend an importer in the states to work with?
How do i fairly price a sack of high quality green coffee from Brasil?
Has anyone had experience in this field and know of anything I should avoid or pay more attention to?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Christopher

Default Bean Import

Hello Christopher,

I am interested in finding a US importer. Might you be able to recommend one of your importers (assuming you have found one) for purchase at less than container load quantities?

I was looking for places more in the NW area. One good one I found was Atlas Coffee Importers. They import full containers but mixed with different quantities from different farms. I think they would be a good place to start for you.
