Default Espresso Favorite(s)

Just wondering what types of espresso all of you have tried and prefer. I personally have tried quite a few commercially available blends from many nationally known artisan roasters. These include offerings from Intelligentsia, Counter Culture, Metropolis, PT's Coffee, Coffee Klatch. I've found some of them to be really good and some not worth sampling. My favorite at the end of the day is a Single Origin Brazil Ipanema that is roasted at 2 different temperature levels then blended. This is done by a roaster local to me as they currently supply us with all the beans I like to use. Works great as straight espresso and pulls through milk very well, tasting like baker's chocolate.

So, what are your favorites? Prefer blends or S.O. and please explain why? Thanks!

Spyder, I put some of the SO Ethiopian Harrar through my espresso machine and I just about lost my life. LOL Talk about a stout coffee!

Know exactly what you mean. My favorite drip coffee so far is Ethiopia Sidamo and awhile back I asked our roaster to incorporate it with our SO Brazil for a house espresso blend. He used 70% of the Brazil, 20% of the Sidamo and 10% Sumatra to balance out the other 2. Worked great and even that small amount of Sidamo was very noticeable. Problem I found was the Sumatra going rancid much quicker than the other two due to it being roasted darker, therefore spoiling the batch. Decided to go back to what was working so well, but I may revisit the house blend down the road.

I have a hard time with "favorite", I have my coffee of the week, or month, I just drink it till I don't want anymore.

Kona is a beast I've been on for a while now.

I created a blend of some beans I had on hand and it's been very good to me. I used some Brazilian beans as a base, then added some Puerto Rican coffee and a bit of Kenyan. This has been my coffee for the last week or so. It's just about done, so I need to come up with something new.
