Default Sumatra Roast

I am a huge fan of Sumatra coffee. I love the flavor. What other blends are similar?

Well, you mean what other beans are similar? Sumatra is a location, not a blend.

I like Sumatra, but if I'm looking for beans I like Kona.

Sumatra is an excellent bean for a dark roast. It is dry processed with a deep body.

I drink the most basic of basics--- Maxwell House.

What would be a good upgrade for me? I don't think I know good coffee because I haven't been exposed to it...

Bali produces some coffee that is similar (but better in my opinion) than a lot of Sumatras. I've had some really good Brazilian beans that reminded me of Sumatra they were so deep and rich. A lot depends on how the coffee is made and how it's roasted though.
If you really want to improve the quality of the coffee you drink get a good grinder and buy good beans from a good roaster. Then make it using tried and true methods (easy to find on this site and other places on the net-- like French Press or pour over, etc.) and you will be blown away at how good it can be.

That's what I started doing about a year ago. I got a Behmor and couldn't be happier. There's a bit of learning curve but it's about a year since I got it and the roasts I do now... I'm very happy with it
