Costa Rican Espresso from Matias.

Good stuff. I will be posting a review later in the week. I want to pull all I can out of it.

I'm still drinking the Costa Rican and loving it, but it will be gone by tomorrow. Yesterday I roasted about a pound of Dominican Republic stuff, I've never had any but it roasts well and this morning smelled delicious.

I have to recommend this Dominican coffee, it is excellent. Full bodied with a nice chocolate flavor, a very pleasant morning fix. I got the beans from 7 Bridges Cooperative and roasted them to city roast.

I saw the commercials about Starbux "blonde" coffee blend, so I stopped in a store out of curiosity. I bought a bag of the coffee and brewed it up here at work. This coffee actually has flavor, which is odd considering it's starbux. This coffee is very far from a light roast. I would say this is a full city to full city plus roast. It's actually not bad and the bag I got is fairly fresh. I don't note any staleness when I put my nose over the bag. The only problem is that I don't particularly like the blend. I suspect there is a heavy dose of Colombian coffee in this blend, which I'm not crazy about. I tend to prefer African or island coffees. There are some south american coffees I love, but Colombian is not one of them. Oh well, hopefully they roast lighter with a variety of beans, not just this blend.

I've noticed South American blends are very rarely good when light roasted.

Today I went to the Coffee Shop. Meh.
