Default Tragic coffee cup loss

I'm wondering if it is just me, or do others have the same feelings about their favorite coffee mug? I tragically broke my favorite mug (actually my son did, but we won't go there!) and have scoured the LA area and several web sites searching for a replacement, but with no success.

For years, "she" was by my side through thick and thin. She was tall, held about 14 ounces, had a unique thumb hold, had a nice solid base, and was easy to grab from any angle.

OK everyone, get your minds out of the gutters! Could anyone direct me to a good site where I can find another classic mug?

Any photos with your mug? Did you keep the bottom of it or is it out with the trash? Sometimes the bottom of the mugs can give a clue on how to find another like it.

I've got a brother-in-law who owns a ceramic arts business (includes lots of cups). I'll send the picture along and see if he knows a place that sells these cups. Cross your fingers.

I appreciate it. Since there was a logo on it (which I could care less about), I'm sure they aren't that rare.

It was actually from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, which I no longer have any contacts. And because of budget problems, all Community Relations employees have been reassigned. I know there are cases of cups stacked somewhere in a storeroom, but finding someone who knows where they are kept is the bugger!

I would just go down there and ask, but I'm not sure how far that is for you. Tell them you're retired and my guess is they'll let you just wonder around.

I doubt that. They would think I was just another loony who escaped jail, and lock me up!
