Smile Bitter coffee face!

Hi everyone;
I'm sure this has been answered many times. Still, I am new to the k cups and would like to know if bitter coffee is a result of how i brew my coffee or if there is something else wrong? Any advise would be very welcome!

k cups are the problem. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the coffee in those little pods is long past stale. There are ways to make fresh pods, but it requires a bit more work. You'll need a grinder, fresh coffee and the materials to make pods. All of these things are available on the net, but it defeats the purpose of the k cup, which is simplicity. Great coffee and simplicity don't often go hand in hand, sorry.

I have purchased the equipment to make my own k cups. Just have to get it here. I was hoping to find out if it was my coffee or how I was making it. Guess I will have to continue playing to figure it out.

If you are using fresh coffee, I would suspect the equipment. Until you can run your machine with fresh coffee and bottled water, you can't eliminate the coffee as the culprit. I've tasted coffee out of these machines and while it's not great, I've tasted much worse. Keep playing with it and I'm sure you will find what works best for you.

Water can definitely be a factor. At a home we owned before, the water smelled of sulfer. I had to buy a softner and whole house filtration system. My wife absolutely hated the water at that house. The strange thing is that the house was in Buda, but east of I35. My current home is also in Buda, but it's west of I35. East of I35 GoForth provides the water and west of I35, it's City of Buda.

I would wonder about the water being bad as well IF our water didn't come from a mountain spring that has won the national taste award. There is absolutely nothing added to the water it isn't even filtered. The water is completely natural. So I'm going to have to say its either my machine or the beans. I have cleaned my machine and the results are much better. So the next step is fresh coffee. I'm sure I will figure it out eventually.
I do appreciate all your advice. I'm sure I wouldn't have thought about it being the coffee beans or cleaning the machine. So, now on to the next subject!

I've noticed similar issues in small towns all across Texas.

The water smells so bad that drinking it isn't an option.

It's safe, but ut makes everything smell bad.
