Default Going to Costa Rica coffee plantation in Jan 2011

I just booked a trip to Costa Rica for my wife and I to spend a week on costaricacoffee's coffee plantation. We'll be there Jan 23-29, 2011

I understand how to roast green beans and make coffee but really looking forward to experiencing the creation of the beans.

I envy you. I've always wanted to check out a plantation. DO you know which one you're going to?

The plantation that local contributor 'costaricacoffee' (Matias) owns.

On this forum is how we met.

Well you're are lucky, I've tried Matias's coffee and it's good.

Now that would be a hoot to have some coffee that you picked yourself. Have a great time in Costa Rica!

Probably too late for anyone to plan on attending the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival November 5-14th, but would be worth considering it for 2011. Home of the 2010 Kona Coffee Cultural Festival I've been to 2 of them and they are fun and educational. I took the farm and coffee processing co-op tours and enjoyed meeting people who are passionate about growing their coffee. One other good thing is that you can visit Kona without a passport. I had a friend that stayed at a B&B on a coffee farm, that is in my plans....

What I was really looking for was to spend a week on the plantation not just a few hours. Staying on a B&B at the farm would be nice. We are actually staying with the family of one of the workers. We will really get into the local culture. :-)

Wow, that impressive. Is it part of the arrangement?

yes. You can stay at a local boarding house or one of the families. We wanted to stay with the family
