My hotel in Hawaii serves lion coffee
Has anyone ever heard of lion coffee? I am right now at a beautiful hotel in hawaii, and their in room coffee machines use this junk. For a few pennies more, I'm certain they could supply real kona coffee. It must boil down to dollars and cents?

Never heard of it, but I'd never use a hotel coffee pot. Have you ever seen those expose's where they show the maids "cleaning" the glasses? Just imagine how they "clean" the coffee pot. I'm a little bit of a germ freak, because I'm a microbiologist, but I have no faith in a maid making $7.25 a hour who is from a country outside of the US.

Hey Havasu! How's Hawaii? If I were you I would stumble through a field until I found a local then ask them where to find a good cup of coffee. Your in the Kona capital, enjoy!

If they where from the US it would make a difference? I was in food management for some time and I can tell you no one is less clean than a 19 year old white kid making $7.25. Also they have the laziness market cornered. At least when my non American help saw me coming they pretended to work.

Being freshly retired from law enforcement, it is not the germs as much as the meth production using hotel coffee machines that I worry about. My problem is that I can't function without my morning coffee. At least those mai tai's should kill most germs! The restaurant has great kona coffee, but is hard to swallow with their $20.00 bacon and eggs!

Enjoy your retirement friend. Live a little and remember that's not bacon and eggs, that Hawaiian Bacon and eggs and for that I could see paying quite a bit more. Your right about the meth in the coffee pots I saw a special on the Pittsburgh Six and making meth in a hotel room is what got them busted. Well, the old guy doing meth and ending up at a bus station, but the concept is the same.

When I travel I always bring my own coffee maker and coffee. I'd rather stick my foot in a Bear trap than drink hotel coffee.
