Default Starbucks bar?

I've been watching lots of news this morning that Starbucks is trying a new innovative idea for their quiet times, usually in the late afternoon. Many will now be serving glasses of beer and wine, along with some appetizers, to fill that void.

Although glasses of wine will cost you $8-$9 a glass, do you believe this is a good idea?

I do. I think coffee and alcohol have similarities as social lubricants.

Although if I'm being honest I prefer to speak with people highly caffeinated as opposed to drunk.

There could be an issue in combining the two, but I think that's an issue best left to SB.

Starbucks doesn't care if it is a good idea, only if it is a profitable one....

I think its a good idea for SB because their afternoon crowd is weakening. Its good if you want a coffee in the morning and theres one on every corner but when you want a coffee shop/cafe vibe they dont really do much for me besides their free Wifi. This will at least attract some people during the afternoon (and free up some of the great cafes in the area that I as well as many others enjoy).

I'm waiting for the first lawsuit to come out of this. It'll likely be one hell of a roller coaster ride.

It might be.

The SB by my house always has a line, day or night, so I wonder if they are losing profits?
