Are you an addict?
Hey guys!
This is my first "proper" post so i hope it turns out to be a good one!
So i was sat at work with a couple of friends and my other half and one of my friends, who i've not seen in a while asked me:
"So do you drink loads of coffee now?(that you have your own coffee shop)"
I gave my answer, which was "not really to be honest, i have a cup a day maybe two max."
My friend was really surprised (strangely) that i didn't drink loads of coffee seeing as im in the industry and around it all the time. She said she thought id be an addict!...lol
Then we got onto the topic of is it good/bad for you etc. which then lead me to wonder if many people who work in the industry are addicts or/and if there are many real addicts who drink like 5 plus cups of coffee a day anyway?
So my question to you find folks is: Are you an addict?
Kim xx
P.S - The first step is admitting it....hehe

Hi, I'm havasu, and yes, I'm an addict. I can not function without coffee in my blood. I don't feel awake, I'm grumpy (OK, that's a given, with or without!) and will not shower until I have at least 4 cups of coffee in the AM.

I too am an addict. I'm not ever up five minutes before I have it in me.
I wake excited in the morning because I get to drink coffee. Really and genuinely excited.

I am not an addict, because I don't rob or steal to support my "habit". The word addict carries a very negative conotation here in the states. Not sure if it's the same way in the UK, but to refer to oneself as an "addict" over coffee is a bit heavy handed. With that said, I function much better with coffee in my system and I really, really like my coffee.

pmsl.... you're right my use of the word "addict" in this context was reckless... lol
another mental image of guys snatching purses then running round the corner and joining the end of the cue at a starbuck has me giggling...hehe
Havasu, what kind of coffee do you drink? and do you have a job that allows you to burn of the extra energy you might get from it?

Job? What is this three letter word you speak of? I'm actually retired, but keep busy doing lots of stuff, especially repairing my homes. Right now, if I'm at home, I drink Costa Rican Medium Roast, from our own Matias, who frequests this forum. I'm also a big fan of Kona Coffee as well. Away from home, I'm not picky, but Folger's Medium Roast is my favorite commercial brand. And to answer that big question, I refuse to pay five bucks at one of those coffee shops that are on every corner of every city in America.
